Jason Zunker Memorial
April 11 & 12. The Wissota View and Foster's Supper Club are hosting a fundtraising event at The Wissota View. This will include food, live music and raffles both nights. There will also be a Large Raffle with ticket sales starting in March with numerous prizes that have been donated. The Jason Zunker Memorial Committee is comprised of family, friends and co-workers. The goal is fundraising money to put towards a memorial at the Sheriff's Department and a scholarship in the emergency fild at Jason's High School, Maple Northwestern.

43rd Annual Spring Art Show
April 13 to April 24. The 43th Annual Spring Art Show at the Heyde Center for the Arts is sponsored by the Chippewa Herald in cooperation with the Chippewa Valley Cultural Association. Original artwork will be on display that includes painting, sculpture, photography, stained glass, mosaics, ceramics, and other creative art forms. The public is invited to an opening reception for the artists on April 13 from 1 to 3 p.m. The shows featured artist, Patricia Mayhew Hamm from Chetek, will give a demonstration from 1 to 2 pm. Chippewa Valley YMCA Indoor Triathlon
April 13 starting at 11am. Get ready for the second annual indoor triathlon at the Chippewa Valley Family YMCA. Triathletes will swim in their large pool, ride a spin bike and run on the indoor track for 15 minutes each. There is a 5 minute maximum transition time between each event. Winners will be determined by a total numbers of miles completed. 6 person heats beginning every 20 minutes. Registration is required to particpate and you must register by April 2. May 8-10, 2008 "The Past Passed Here" is a special event featuring hands-on activities highlighting the historic sights and sounds of early Chippewa Falls. This National Historic Preservation Month Celebration includes historic re-enactors portraying characters from the French Fur Trade and Lumbering eras. Visitors to the historic encampment can experience history first hand through camp skill competitions, 1800s style food and browse a traders row selling period merchandise. Storyhill
October 11 at 7:00pm at the Heyde Center. John Hermanson and Chris Cunningham, the acoustic/pop duo Storyhill, are winners of the 2007 Kerrville New Fold Contest. They began performing together as teenagers, went in different directions for a while, and have reformed with a commitment to touring and recording. Songs and Scenes
November 14 at 7:00pm at the Heyde Center for the Arts. Cathy Statz and Elaine Mann close our 2008 entertainment package with a vocal and piano concert of American songs and arias from musical theatre and opera. Cathy has a Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance from Lawrence University in Appleton, WI. She is a performed with the Chippewa Valley Theatre Guild, and a member of The Master Singers. Elaine is Director of Music and organist at Grace Lutheran Church in Eau Claire, WI. She has a Master of Music degree from Boston University, and is a fellow of the American Guild of Organists.
